Its been an eventful day for Serena Williams, beating Maria Sharapova, again, and releasing her debut rap track.
Firstly and most importantly, the rap. Its kind of catchy, and I mean its better that Wozniacki's song...I still don't know if that is an achievement or not. Give it a listen, you might like it, it my blow your speakers, who knows.
Now the match, yes the match. Serena cut up that court like a frozen pizza, extended her head to head against Sharapova to 8-2 having won the last seven match dropping just two sets. The first set was over before you knew it, and as always against Sharapova, Serena seems to play pretty damn well no mater what the circumstances are.
The second set, although it may not seem it from the score, was much tighter having Serena taking her foot off the gas probably feeling as though she was pretty comfortably home already. Maria definitely had chances in the second but Serena was able to step up on the big points, assisted by her trusty serve. Ultimately Serena proved too strong and always one step ahead of her opponent finishing with a 6-1 6-3 victory.
In the semis Serena will meet surprise semi finalist, Lucie Hradecka who has won through qualifying and not beaten two top five players, Petra Kvitova and Sam Stosur to make her first ever Premier Mandatory semi final. In a match which featured no service breaks and Hradecka fired 19 aces she prevailed in two tie break sets winning them 10-8 and 8-6 respectively.
On the other half of the draw Victoria Azarenka and Agnieszka Radwanska will play for the sixth time this year, and it only may, and you've got to feel bad to Radwanska drawing Vika all the time.

Serena took seriously the RG karaoke that she did a few years ago. She sounds like an amateur rapper from the early 80s and it reeks of Common. :P

Mrs. Angry Bird laid an egg in Madrid's final. She fears Serena so much that she craps in her thong just at the mere thought of playing against her. Interesting, I thought Bird had Serena's number.
So lets see, Serena has won in green clay and blue clay this year but as someone said no titles in RED clay since 2002. I have an idea, maybe Serena's fans can buy blue green powder dye and cover RG's red clay with it before Serena's matches. I picture the Captain carrying a sac of blue green powder dye, sneaking at night time and doing the dirty deed. :P
Caps, probably my girl Naughty Desdemona read on this blog that I don't like the tourney in Rome like Miami and decided to skip it. :P I don't like players playing a tourney right before a grand slam, so I'll have a serious talk with her. :P At best she can play a couple of rounds and bail.
I don't know if Naughty Desdemona is at 100%, in the last photo that was posted on her website she had (blue) tape on both of her lower legs going toward her ankles which were covered in blue tape. This photo was taken while playing in Madrid (I don't know which round was it). She withdrew from Estoril citing an ankle problem.
The Belly Dancer also skipped Rome.
Captain, I want a piece of cake! cake! cake! :P
Hmmmm. First time I've ever seen Mona with any tape on.
Lickitongue beat Lepenchenko 6-1, 4-6, 6-4!
05:00 Medina Garrigues - Zheng
06:30 Wozniak - Goerges
07:30 Ivanovic - Kuznetsova
08:00 Rodionova - Kerber
09:30 Arvidsson - Martinez Sanchez
13:30 Makarova - Schiavone
I could see Wozniak taking out Goerges...And would expect Makarova to work over Schiavone. Also, Kuzzie should jungle stomp the Imbecile but we never know which Kuzzie is going to show up.

Serena Williams mocks complaining men as 'weenies'

Caps, I agree on your comments on Wozniak and Kuznetsova.
Article 1:
I'm a stat guy and no matter how boring it may sound I just love it.
One of those loses that Mrs. Angry has to Serena was the withdrawal at AO 2009 when the Mrs. took the first set. I remember McEnroe saying, "This is not funny, this girl is about to faint. Somebody better be ready to catch her". Later that year the Mrs. dismantled Serena in Miami in straight sets to take he first major title. Don't understand why her fear against Serena.
I post this question to everyone on this blog: If a player keeps going deep into tournaments is it counter productive? The Williams sisters benefited from playing few tournaments in the past, ask Davenport, but now is mandatory to play a certain number. Stuttgart was loaded with top players, so was Madrid, and Rome is too, no time to play cup cakes. Does it take a toll on players going deep into tournaments? Was Mrs. Angry Bird getting pummel in this two last finals misleading? First tournament for Serena since the first week of April, Family Circle which she won. Before Madrid both Mrs. Angry and Divapova have been the players who gone deeper in all important tournaments AO, Indian Wells, Miami, add Stuttgart for tough field. Titles for Mrs. Angry in Sydney and Qatar, QF in Paris for Divapova.
Article 2:
WHAT A HYPOCRITE!!! She was the leader of the group of players who voiced against the blue clay. If she would have lost her tune would have been different. I do agree that the men were "Weenies" for complaining, BUT SHE DID COMPLAIN TOO! So shut the hell up! If women are tougher than men like Serena says then I suggest that women play five sets instead of three, like the men.
Carlos, I wouldn't hold your breath waiting for any reputable tennis website or commentator to call out the double talk from Serena!

Yet again another Monday Mayhem.
I'll start by asking Clefairy: How is the recovery going? If your medication is making you see three ABMs just remember three is greater than one (3>1). :P
Captain: what do you say about the rumors that on Friday you ate half a cake, drank a keg of beer, 5 bottles of vodka, 4 bottles of tequila, 3 bottles of whiskey, 2 Pims, glass of wine, and swallowed a breath mint? :P
Question of the week: What word starts with the letter "F" and ends with a "K" that means a lot of heat and excitement?
Answer at the bottom of the post*
Movie quote of the week: "There is no sense getting all rile up every time a bunch of idiots give you a hard time. In the end, the universe tends to unfold as it should." From the movie Harold and Kumar Go To White Castle.
Special bad news delivery to Mr. Caps 321:
After seeing the photo of my girl Naughty Desdemona with tape on both of her legs and ankles I decided to ask her questions about the matter (and another one) via her official website. Afterwards I went to YouTube and saw this video, don't let the prancing and the hair bun distract you, check the tape work:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NV6Kp3FlF6Y
Three questions I asked naughty Desdemona were about her injury status; 1)if she was 100% healthy, 2)if it affected her performance in Madrid, and 3)If she would withdraw from Strasbourg if she wasn't at 100%. She only answered the first question, she said, "I still have problems with my foot". If read between between the lines I say that the answer to the other two questions are yes; then again I've been told that I over-read. Note: she answered back in six hours.
Why is she carrying two bags?

*Answer to the question: FiretrucK
Checking the stocks:
Wicki, Peng, Bunny, downtrend continuing.
You can add Kuznetsova to the downtrend list: Only one semifinal this year ASB Classic, she has been one and done in four of her last five tournaments, losing in the first round three times in this stretch. Don't invest in this stock, once she announce she had disinterest the results are showing on field.
Surprisingly Hantuchova's stock has had a solid year: one title (Pattaya), two finals (Pattaya and Brisbane), four QF, and only one first round loss.
Princess is an OK stock: No one and done (before Rome), three second round losses, fourth round in Miami, QF in Indian Wells, one final (Pattaya). The stock could be doing better but a deep run in RG would improve the stock's value significantly.
Today in Rome I take:
Divapova over Bambi in straights.
Ostrich over Nasti Pav in straights.
Princess defeating Flavia damn draw! :P
Round two Halep upsetting Venus in three.
Licki Bean over Erakovic.
Errani over Bacsinsky.
Serena in a tough three setter over Galina.
JJ vs chipmunk pick'em this sounds like a choker match.
I forgot, I take Sloane Stephens to win over Lickitongue.
Bambi was up in the first & second set but buckled under the pressure. CHOKE CITY.
Coming up, Halep is about to spank Venus.. Or she better if there is any chance of her easing on into my stable!
Lickitongue got beat, Nasty Pav gave Ostrich a pretty good match but the big bad one prevailed.
Today I got:
Serena, Angry Bird, and Aggie winning in straight sets.
Kirby in three sets over King
Julia G. over Sponge Bart.
Flavia over Sloane.
Knapp upsetting Diminutive
Errani upsetting Sam
Chipmunk and Jeepers Scheepers advancing.
...And I hope Imbecile and Bunny lose.
I was doing well yesterday until the Princess lost and everything else was shot to hell. :P
Caps: Bambi was up 4-1 in first set when she started to choke. She even serve for the set. Well, she is still young.
Caps, I'm beginning to think if Halep stuff her bra to make her look pre-surgery she will play at pre-surgery level. :P
Princess came out flat for her first one and done of the year.
Licki Bean...I still like her off court.

This was the explanation from a spokesman at Tennis Channel: "It's a resource issue, and another example of why we've fought so hard for TC to be treated like Golf Channel and other single-sports networks that aren't stifled by limited-audience sports tiers. We have the rights to show both the men's and women's matches in Madrid, and for this event we use the ATP and WTA feeds. The difference is that the ATP offers a fully produced feed, with graphics and on-air talent, and the WTA doesn't. This means that when we take the WTA feed, we have to produce it (i.e., get it ready for air) by adding graphics, music, a play-by-play person and analyst, etc., which we don't have to do with the men's feed. As an independent network with limited resources, we weren't able to air as many women's matches as we'd like."
