12:00 Safarova - Radwanska (WTA Moscow)

Aggie will be appearing in a party dress at high noon Eastern time!

False alarm. Aggie's match started right before 13:00.

Kanepi takes out Schiavone.

Julia's match must be on after Angry Bird which is in progress.

Aggie was up 3-0 in the first set and lost 6-4. Plus, I lost my feed and can't get Julia's match either. Guess I'll check the scoreboard later for results.

BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

Aggie loses and Julia wins.

Does Square Pants still have to win the title for 8th spot in the YEC's?

I read Square Pants have to reach the QF to qualify to the YEC. If she loses before that she is an alternate and Aggie is in.

As mentioned in a previous post Aggie is playing the best tennis of her career. However she still need to raise her game and control her nerves during the pressure cooker. She went into the USO 11 with high expectations after she had a great summer on US hard courts; and what does Aggie do to follow that great summer? She loses early having a disappointing slam. She was rolling along after the USO 11 and now this other choke while trying to qualify for the YEC. Her game is up to par not her mental toughness. In the off the season she needs to work on it, so she can really kick butt next year.

Ms. Clefairy, the official WTA tour website is the hype machine for its players. The website will over blow any story on or off court or hype up a match. The players that are consider popular are the ones the website pumps up the most, the likes of Divapova, The Fist Pumping Imbecile.

One of the announcers today said Aggie was having a hard time 'reading' Safarova concerning where she was going to hit the ball.

Perhaps that's why Safarova leads Aggie 4-1 now. Also heard the guy say he's lost count how many times Aggie went to net and had the ball hit over her head.

But, I only saw part of the match..

Nevertheless, I think finishing 8th or 9th in the rankings for 2011 is good. She's been trying to get back in the top 10 for a while now.

Deja vu thats what happened at the USO 11! I remember you Caps writing about it. Aggie gets to the net and the opponent hits the ball over Aggie's head. Kerber was the player that upset Aggie at the USO.

Aggie needs to adjust to this "getting to the net so the opponent can hit the ball over my head" game plan. Is just a case of getting nervous/tight when Aggie is the favorite, in the big stage matches, or for all the marbles matches. I think these loses are learning experiences and by next year she will have a handle on this types of situations.

I agree, for Aggie getting back into the top ten this year is a major accomplishment.

Thanks, Carlos -- I forgot all about that match.

Looks like Elena Vesnina might be healthy again. She didn't manage to get dumped out in the first round.

Not sure what is going on with Ekaterina Makarova.. She seems to be losing early and often.

Caps, Makarova has been in a terrible slump right after RG 11.

Since AEGON International Makarova has only reach the second round three times, no further than that.

She has lost in the first round 9 out the last twelve tournaments she has played in. In this stretch Makarova has first round loses in her last six tournaments.

Ouch!!

Might as well pack it in for the year and re-tool/tweak her game.

Aggie is locked in to the YEC's!!

MOSCOW - Marion Bartoli of France has withdrawn from the quarterfinals of the Kremlin Cup with an illness, handing Agnieszka Radwanska a spot in the season-ending WTA finals.

The third-seeded Bartoli was scheduled to play Elena Vesnina of Russia on Friday but pulled out because of a viral illness.

"I think just my whole body needed a break," Bartoli said. "I really was trying till the end but yesterday during my match I already felt not very good."

The ninth-ranked Frenchwoman beat Russia's Ksenia Pervak in straight sets in the second round on Wednesday and had not dropped a set her last six matches.

"I still have a bit of energy left, so it was enough (to play), but early this morning I had so much pain in my whole body, on my neck — I couldn't even warm up," she said. "So, I knew it would be extremely difficult (to play). You know, it's been a very, very long season and I really tried it toward the end but that was it for me."

Bartoli won her seventh career title in Osaka last weekend and needed to win the title in Moscow to secure the last spot left for next week's WTA Championships in Istanbul.

With Bartoli's withdrawal, Radwanska qualifies directly for the event for the first time, despite losing in the second round in Moscow. She was a substitute in 2008 and 2009.

Didn't watch the match but Cibulkova beat Vera 4-6, 6-4, 6-4.

Julia won over A. SEVASTOVA 5-2 when she retired. Next up will be Angry Bird in the semi's.

The winner will play M. NICULESCU or A. KEOTHAVONG in the final.
