Wozniacki races to 4th round.

After going winless in her previous three matches against Maria Jose Martinez Sanchez, WTA No. 1 Caroline Wozniacki had no problem getting by the Spaniard on Monday at the BNP Paribas Open. She dismissed Martinez Sanchez 6-1 6-3 in 71 minutes in the opening match on Stadium 1.

“She's a very different player; you don't get any rhythm against her,” said Wozniacki. “And for me today, it was important to move my feet, try to get as many returns back, and it helped me a little bit that she didn't get too many first serves in so I could go in and dictate the game. As long as I kept her on the baseline, then I felt like I was in control of the point. But it was very important to keep the pressure but not force it too much.”

The 20-year-old Dane, who spent 68 minutes on court in her opening match Saturday, advances to the fourth round in Indian Wells for a fourth straight year. She came close to winning the title last year, falling to Jelena Jankovic in the final.

Wozniacki will look to continue her run when she next plays 22nd-seeded Russian Alisa Kleybanova, who accounted for No. 13 seed Flavia Pennetta of Italy 6-3 6-4. Kleybanova, 21, reached the Indian Wells quarter-finals last year.

Ninth seed Agnieszka Radwanska of Poland fought past Maria Kirilenko 6-0 2-6 7-5 in her third round match. Radwanska prevented the 24th-seeded Russian from serving out the match at 5-3 as she proceeded to win the final four games.

Radwanska, 22, has reached the quarter-finals or better the past three years at the BNP Paribas Open.

Belarusian Victoria Azarenka, the No. 8 seed, prevented a fourth-round showdown between the Radwanska sisters after defeating 172nd-ranked Urszula Radwanska 7-6(3) 6-3 in just under two hours in the second match on Stadium 2.

The 21-year-old Azarenka, a resident of Scottsdale, leads Radwanska 4-2 in the lifetime series including wins in their two most recent meetings.

Azarenka achieved her best Indian Wells finish in 2009, when she reached the semi-finals before losing to eventual champion Vera Zvonareva.

The Aggie/Angry Bird match is interesting one. Two former doubles partners going at it. I'm reserving comment for Angry Bird, she is getting on a bad side.

Speaking of doubles the top two seeds are out. Pennetta/Dulko the number one seed were defeated. While the number two seed Peschke/Srebotnik were gone after the first round.

Kleybanova is licking her chops while thinking about dismantling the Bunny.

Not really worried about the Clijsters/Bartoli match.. Marion is just not enough woman to take down Kimmie.

Poor Kimmie has gone gimpie! She just retired vs. Bartoli.

She mentioned something about her shoulder on twitter the other day.

Wow, I had no idea about the extent of this:

---
Four-time Grand Slam champion Clijsters has been taking medication for the injury and said after her third-round victory that she was concerned about how it would hold up during the upcoming clay-court season. She said she began to take pain medication during her run to the 2011 Australian Open title.

"I thought after this break [between the Paris Indoors and Indian Wells] I had treatment on it, while I was off, it felt fine," said Clijsters on Sunday. "Just when I'm not training it feels fine. But as I got into hitting a little bit more again, it slowly just flared up a little bit. I just felt with those higher shots, I kind of just feel it more. I kind of feel it pinching a little bit more when I have to do that kick serve and when I have to just reach that right arm up higher with the forehand."

Clijsters' osteopath, who travels with occasionally, was not at Indian Wells.

Anya Chakvetadze
Anna was released yesterday from the hospital and was advised by the doctor to take some time off from tennis and recover from her illness called , neurocardiogenic syncope . No word on how she picked up the illness maybe its due to intense work out , being in a warm weather or even traveling and stress related. She pulled out of Miami and plans to take care of her health first. Let's wish her a full recovery.-JB-

Thanks once again for the info Caps321.

Hope to see Lickitongue healthy once again with her tongue sticking out: :P

Wondering if the neck issue that Kookie Monster had in Paris was related to her shoulder. I wish her a speedy recovery.

The Big Stuffed Bunny blitzed Kleybanova in the last set. Looks like Kleybanova ran out gas, you were right Caps321 she needs more fitness aka stamina.

It seems all the evil ones are advancing in this tourney.

Angry Bird/Aggie match it has to be one of the top matches of I.W. 11 along with Urszula/Bojana match.

Question for you Captain, do we give away the final score of matches before you post the article or do we wait to talk about a match until you have the story posted? Sometimes I feel I'm walking over your toes when I know a score and I write it and yet you haven't done a post. On the other hand at times I can't wait to talk about a match. What is the protocol?

Carlos, I don't mind, its porbably best you talk about matches, because with me being in Australia, I'm generally sleeping matches take place and don't have time to do a morning post! Ahaha. So by all means discuss results!

The Aggie/Angry bird match was the best match of IW 11.

And caps321, once again thank you for sharing these updates! :)
