Jarka too strong for Samantha.

For me, this is most possibly the best result of 2011! It featured a lot of things I love about tennis; Jarka dominating with her serve and powerful ground strokes, Sam Stosur losing and night matches!

In the first set Jarmila was flawless, she didn't loose a point on first serve and won 89% of points on serve in total, she fired down 7 aces and won 83% of points when returning the second serve from Sam, considered one of the best in game. Jarka even powered 78% of first severs in. It was a sensational set from Groth which she won 6-2.

The second se wasn't as smooth for Jarka, she quickly found her self down a break and 4-1 as stosur look poised to take the set, and push a decider. How ever in true Jarmila stile she fought hard and gridded down the points until she back on serve at 4-4 and the produced a break to serve for the match at 5-4. Groth was able to capitilize on her first match point at 40-15, reeling off 5 consecutive games, to take down top seed and Fed Cup team mate 6-2, 6-4.

The Quarterfinals will see Jarka take on either compatriot and wild card Jelena Dokic or German power house Andrea Petkovic.

A good day for you Captain. one of your faves took down on of your "evil" ones. :P Stosur is shaky/rusty this early in the season, she better shake the cob webs before AO 11.

A very good day indeed! Hmm I'm not to confident she will be able to get back 4th/QF in Melbourne, I personally don't think her game is that good off the clay!

Stosur is capable of making good runs but that's just about it, she chokes. Yes I so agree with you Captain she is better in clay.
